Our commitment
CozyRings wants every game creator to be able to use our tools, including people with disabilities. We designed and tested this website to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA, which also covers the Israeli standard SI 5568 (based on WCAG 2.0 level AA) referred to in the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (Service Accessibility Adjustments) Regulations, 2013.
The same target also matches the main international rules: the European standard EN 301 549 used by the European Accessibility Act, the UK accessibility guidance, and the guidance commonly used under the US Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 508.
Conformance status: partially conformant. Most of the site meets WCAG 2.1 AA; the exceptions are listed under "Known limitations" below.
What we did
- The whole site works with a keyboard: every link, button, menu, dialog and video can be reached with Tab and used with Enter or Space. A visible outline shows where you are.
- A Skip to main content link is the first thing on every page.
- Text and buttons have a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 (3:1 for large text and icons).
- Images that carry meaning have text alternatives; decorative images and animations are hidden from screen readers.
- Pages use proper headings, landmarks (header, main, footer, navigation) and labelled form fields, so screen readers can navigate them.
- Nothing plays sound or video on its own. Music, sound effects and videos start only when you press play.
- The Bit chat helper opens with the button in the bottom corner, works fully with a keyboard (Esc closes it), and new answers are announced to screen readers.
- The 3D comet on the home page can be turned with the mouse, by touch or with the arrow keys, has a text description, and stays still when motion is reduced.
- If your device is set to reduce motion, animations are turned off automatically.
- The site works when zoomed to 200% and on phones and tablets.
- Links that open a new tab say so to screen readers.
The accessibility menu
The blue button with the accessibility symbol, at the bottom left of every page, opens a menu where you can:
- make the text bigger (up to 150%),
- stop all animations (moving stars, floating sprites, the scrolling banner),
- switch to high contrast,
- underline all links,
- replace the decorative fonts (in the games and tools) with a plain, easy-to-read font.
Your choices are saved in your browser only.
Known limitations
We are still working on these parts:
- Generated art previews (Asset Library): each generated picture is described by its name, style and type, but not by a detailed visual description.
- Videos: talks are hosted on YouTube and our Juice Lab videos on Google Drive. Captions depend on what is available on those platforms; some of our own short videos don't have captions yet, and we are adding them.
- 3D comet: it is decorative; everything it shows is also described in text, and the "Make a wish" text is announced to screen readers.
- External websites: we link to many websites we don't control, and they may not be accessible.
If something on the site does not work for you, please tell us. We will help you get the information another way and fix it.
How we tested
Automated checks of contrast, names, labels, headings and keyboard access on every page, plus manual keyboard testing, in Google Chrome (desktop) on Windows. [Add here any other browsers / screen readers you test with, e.g. Firefox, Edge, Safari on iPhone, NVDA]
